Tuesday, 12 August 2014

The BNP-led 20-party alliance will stage a nationwide demonstration on August 19 protesting the newly-enacted broadcast policy. The coalition will start its fresh agitation programmes with a black-flag procession protesting Israel’s recent attacks on Gaza. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the alliance’s 13-day programme at the party’s headquarters in the city’s Naya Paltan on Tuesday. The 20-party will hold black flag processions across the country on Aug 16, said Mirza Alamgir. He added that a rally would be held at Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan on August 19 protesting the Broadcast Policy 2014. The senior BNP leader said that party chief Khaleda Zia might attend the rally. The alliance will also conduct public mobilisation activities across the country between Aug 21 and 31 to press for its demand for a fresh national election under a non-party government, according to bdnews24.com.
