Sunday, 20 July 2014
Awami League (AL) presidium member Advocate Sahara Khatun said Saturday the BNP's movement after the Eid would not be successful as the people are not with that party, reports.
"The BNP's movement is the movement of burning buses, copies of the holy Quran and killing men. The people have no involvement with these programmes," she said speaking as chief guest at a discussion in the city.
Amra Muktijodhhar Santan, a platform of children of freedom fighters (FFs), organised the discussion meeting on "Maritime Victory: Resist Those Conspiring Against Nation' at Dhaka Reporters' Unity.
Presided over by Amra Muktijodhhar Santan President M Humayun Kabir, the meeting was also addressed by former State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Capt (Retd) AB Tajul Islam, Amra Muktijodhhar Santan Presidium Member Emdadul Haq and Jahidul Islam Mollah, and Vice-president Aminul Islam Ripon.
Sahara Khatun said the BNP came into being to hatch conspiracy against the country.
She urged the children of freedom fighters to work together against the conspirators.
"Your fathers liberated the country. You will have to cooperate with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take the country forward," she said.
Tajul Islam said the BNP could not deliver any for the country so far. They are conspiring to make the country dysfunctional, he added.
