BNS ANUSHANDHAN arrives in Ctg

Modern Hydrographic Survey Ship BNS ANUSHANDHAN purchased from Royal British Navy arrived in Chittagong Friday, said a press release.
BNS ANUSHANDHAN is a Modern Hydrographic Survey Ship of Royal British Navy named "Ex HMS ROEBUCK", which is able to carry out international standard survey at any place in the world.
The long awaited dedicated hydrographic survey vessel, the first of its kind, was purchased during the fiscal year 2009-2010 for Bangladesh Navy. It will internationalise the credibility of hydrographic activities of Bangladesh.
The ship was formally handed over to Bangladesh Navy from British Navy at government level at Ports Mouth Victory Jetty on May 28 this year.
Commodore Commanding Chittagong, senior naval officers and a large number of sailors welcomed BNS ANUSHANDHAN at Chittagong Naval Jetty on completion of her 47 days voyage.
