Boalkhali municipality polls today

CHITTAGONG, May 20 (BSS): The first election of Boalkhali municipality of the district will be held today (Wednesday).
The administration has completed all out preparations to hold the election of the municipality.
Upazila Election Office has already sent transparent ballot boxes, ballot papers and other polling materials to all 18 polling centres of the municipality.
Returning Officer Khandakar Nurul Hoque said a total of 18 presiding officers, 113 assistant presiding officers and 226 polling officers have been appointed in 113 polling booths.
Besides, members of Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Ansar and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will be deployed as striking forces while four executive magistrates will conduct mobile courts during the polling, he added.
A total of 46,220 voters including 23,543 females will cast their votes to elect one mayor, nine councillors and three reserved female councillors.
