Boat capsize in Habiganj kills 3

HABIGNAJ: A woman, her 25-year-old son and mother were killed when a boat capsized in the Kodalia River at Jalshuka village in Ajmiriganj upazila Friday.
The deceased were identified as Maksuda Begum, 50, her son Ershad, and her mother Javeda Begum, 70, of the village, according to a news agency.
Police and witnesses said the trio took shelter in an anchored boat at the Jalshuka Bazarghat when a storm was sweeping the area around 6pm.
However, the violent washed away the boat which sank in the river, leaving the trio inured.
Later, locals rescued them and took them to Ajmiriganj Upazila Health Complex where duty doctors declared them dead.
