Boat capsize kills 11 cows in Shitalakkha

An engine-propelled boat loaded with 25 sacrificial animals capsized in Shitalakkha River in Narayanganj district leaving at least 11 cattle drowned in the river on Tuesday. However, the people of the boat, managed to swim ashore. Cattle traders who were on the boat said, they were taking 25 sacrificial animals to Sonakanda cattle haat (market) by the motor-driven boat. When the boat reached near Sonakanda cattle market it capsized. Only 14 of the 25 cattle managed to swim to the bank of the river while the rest drowned, they said, according to a news agency.
