Boat capsizes in Goalanda: 3 missing

At least three people went missing as a boat capsized after being hit by a ferry in Padma River near Daulatdia Ferry Ghat (terminal) at Goalanda Upazila in Rajbari district on Friday night. Of the victims, two were identified as Razi and Likhon while the identity of another victim could not be known. Locals said the boat carrying 16 passengers sank in Padma River when a Patuaria-bound utility ‘Shapla-Shaluk’ ferry hit it while heading towards Daulatdia from Kazirhat around 8:00pm. Later, 13 passengers were rescued by the local people while three went missing, according to a news agency.
