Boat sinks in Munshiganj, 27 missing

At least 27 workers went missing after a country boat sank in the river Dhaleshwari in Munshiganj Monday night, police and witnesses said, reports bdnews24.com.
The boat was bound for Baktabali in Narayanganj, Munshiganj deputy commissioner Monir Uddin told the news agency by phone from the scene.
The boat capsized after a three-decked launch, MV Bandhan, slammed into it.
Munshiganj Sadar police chief AA Neazi told bdnews24.com that the boat was carrying at least 40 workers on board.
Angur Miah (40), Al Amin (30), Kala Miah (32) and Akbar Miah (age unknown) were taken to hospital.
Local people launched an overnight rescue operation.
