Bodies of 6 out of 9 BD Saudi fire victims arrive Friday

The bodies of six out of the nine Bangladesh nationals who were burnt to death in a fire in Saudi Arabia in May, will arrive in Dhaka on Friday. A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the bodies is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport at 3pm, said assistant director of the Dhaka district Employment and Manpower office on Tuesday. Assistant director of Expatriates' Welfare Board Jahid Anwar said relatives of the victims have been asked to be present at the airport to receive the bodies. He also said the bodies of three other Bangladeshi victims will reach home in a week. Nine Bangladeshis among 11 were burnt to death in a fire that broke out in a furniture-manufacturing factory at Shifa Sanaya in Riyadh on May 12. Of the Bangladeshi victims, seven hailed from Comilla distroct while one each from Noakhali and Madaripur. They are Mohammad Jalal, 36, son of Haji Rustom Ali, M Abdul Gaffar, 35, son of Nurul Islam, M Selim, 37, son of Ramjan Ali, Bahauddin, 27, son of M Ismail Hossain, Nazir Hossain, 32, son of Jamsher Ali, M Motiur Rahman, 33, son of Abdul Karim and M Shah Alam, 35, son of Habibur Rahman of Comilla, Zakir Hossain of Noakhali and Khorshed of Madaripur. Of them, the bodies of Motiur, Selim, Jalal, Shah Alam, Zakir and Khorshed will be brought bake home on Friday, according to UNB.
