Bodies of four missing sailors recovered in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 13: River police have recovered the bodies of 4 sailors who went missing after a fishing vessel named 'FV Magferat' capsized in the Icha-nagar area of the Karnaphuli River.
The deceased were identified as Faruk Bin Abdullah, captain of the ship, Jahirul Islam, engineer of the ship, Saiful Islam, chief officer, and Rahmat Ali, a dock worker.
Ekram Ullah, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat River Police Station, said that the fishing vessel named FV Magferat lost control and collided with a buoy while being taken to the dockyard of Sea Resources Company for repair work on Tuesday night. "Nine of the crew members were rescued while 7 others went missing," he added.
He said that a body was recovered from Patenga at 3:00am on Thursday. "Three more bodies were recovered from under the Karnaphuli Bridge on Thursday morning," he added.
He said, "The bodies were sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue and the operation is on to recover the missing sailors."
