Body found in Shitalakhya today may be Jahangir\\\'s, police suspect

Hardly 16 hours after recovery of half a dozen dead bodies from Shitalakhya and Dhaleswari rivers in Narayanganj, one more body has been recovered from Shitalakkha River in Bandar Upazila of Narayanganj. Bandar Police on Thursday recovered the body of a male from near Kolagachhia Shantinagar area in Shitalakhya following Wednesday’s recovery of six bodies, including that of abducted Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) panel mayor Nazrul Islam. The body, recovered today, is believed to be of Jahangir, the car driver of Nazrul Islam. Locals spotted the body floating in the river around 7:30am and informed police, who recovered it with its hands and legs tied up. Police sent the body to Naraanganj General Hospital for autopsy. Nazrul Islam and his three associates and his driver were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah area of Narayanganj city on Sunday. Hours after their abduction, senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted while they were going to Dhaka. On Wednesday at 3:30pm, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul Islam and Chandan Kumar Sarkar were recovered from the Shitalakhya and Dhaleshwari Rivers, three days after their abductions, according to bdnews 24.com.
