Body of Pinak-6 victim found in Jhalakati

The body of a victim of sunken launch ‘Pinak-6’ was recovered from Sugandha River in Dakkhin Mogar village under Nalchhiti Upazila in Jhalakati district on Friday, 18 days after the launch capsized in Padma River in Munshiganj district. The deceased was identified as Mintu Mollah, son of Abdus Salam of Krishnadia village in Moksedpur Upazila of Gopalganj district. His identity was discovered through calling his family by a mobile SIM found along with him during the body recovery, police said. Later, police handed over the body of Mintu to his uncle Babul Mollah. Mintu Mollah had been enlisted in the government’s list of the missing in ‘Pinak-6’ capsize. With this, 49 bodies have so far been recovered from different rivers stretching several districts after the overloaded launch overturned near Mawa Turning Point of Lauhajang on August 4, according to UNB.
