Body of rickshaw van puller recovered in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, Dec 25 (BSS): Police recovered the body of a rickshaw-van puller from a crop field at Taratia village under Dewanganj upazila of the district today.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Karim, 38, son of Asghar Ali of village Archakandi under Hatibhanga union of the upazila.
Locals said the victim was carrying passengers on his van from Katharbeel area to Taratia Bazar around 10 pm last night.
But the people of the area found the body this morning at a cropland of Taratia village.
Being informed, a team of Dewanganj Police station rushed to the spot and recovered the body with injury marks on the victim's throat and sent it to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police suspected that the criminals might be murdered Abdul Karim by strangling and took away the rickshaw-van. A murder case was filed with Dewanganj police station in this regard.
