Body to probe rating agency’s data trafficking
Monday, 3 November 2014
The securities regulator has formed a two-member body to probe the alleged involvement of a rating agency in trafficking data to India, officials have said. The committee formed on Thursday has been asked to submit its report within 30 working days, according to a Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) official. The central bank's investigation in June found that the credit rating agency allegedly trafficked financial information of hundreds of SMEs and several financial institutions of Bangladesh to India in the process of calculating the ratings by using a web-based system and a server, both hosted in New Delhi. —FE Report
