Body to probe supply of date-expired rice to Netrakona people

NETRAKONA, May 26 (BSS): A three-member inquiry committee headed by Khaliajury upazila food officer Azizur Rahman has started investigating the allegations of preserving date-expired and damaged rice in different government food godowns in Purbadhala upazila of the district and supply those to the people.
Netrakona district food department has constituted the probe body on the instruction of the district controller of food (DC food) Mohammad Rafizuddin, the district food department office sources said.
When contacted DC food Rafizuddin said that the investigation committee was formed on Thursday last following a report published in different newspapers on the allegations of preserving and supplying of date-expired rice to the people.
The probe body was asked to submit its report within seven days, he added.
