Body to probe watermelon tragedy

A seven-member probe panel has been formed to look into the incident where a nine-year-old girl died and 18 people, including seven members of a family, fell sick after taking watermelon at Kalua village in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia. District civil surgeon office formed the probe panel on Monday with Sadar Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Abdul Halim as its chief. The committee has been asked to submit its report within three days. Meanwhile, a six-member medical team from the capital rushed in on Sunday night to find out reasons behind the incident, according to a news agency.
