Bogra-Dhunat road communication disconnected

BOGRA, March 13: Road communication between Bogra and Dhunat has been disconnected because a bailey bridge on 9th kilometre of Bogra-Dhunat road has collapsed.
Executive Engineer of the R&H confirmed that the bridge had collapsed because heavily loaded trucks often run over it. It will take five more days to repair the bridge.
It had been known that the bridge had a carrying capacity of 7 tonnes but 20 to 30 tonnes truck were regularly passing over the bridge. As a result, it collapsed last Wednesday.
Due to this mishap carrying of fertilisers and materials for repair of Jamuna barrage had been disrupted and people of those area had been cut off from the district headquarters through road, causing great inconvenience to them
