Bogura, Sunamganj road crashes kill five

A total of five persons were killed in separate road accidents in Bogura and Sunamganj districts on Saturday and Friday, report agencies.
In Bogura, three motor workers were killed and two others injured in a collision between a bus and a private car on Bogura-Naogaon highway at Erulia in Sadar upazila of Bogura district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Alamgir Hossain, 45, Abdul Hannan, 55, and Fahim, 42.
The accident occurred around 10 am when the bus crashed into the Naogaon-bound private car, leaving three dead on the spot and two others injured, said Mizanur Rahman, sub-inspector of Sadar Police Station.
The injured were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital.
Traffic movement on Bogura-Naogaon highway remained suspended for two hours following the accident.
In Sunamganj, an elderly woman and her grand-daughter were killed as a truck hit their motorcycle on Dirai-Sunamganj Road on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Samsunnahar Begum, 80, her grand-daughter Jannat, 12, both hailed from Tolbausi village at Derai upazila.
Locals said that the accident occurred around 10pm on Friday night in Gagli area on the road, leaving Samsunnahar and Jannat dead on the spot and two others injured seriously. The injured people including the driver of the motorcycle were sent to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.
