Boishakhi Fair begins Tuesday

A ten-day-long 'Boishakhi Fair 1422' will kick off Tuesday on the Bangla Academy premises with a view to celebrating the Bengali new year.
Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) and Bangla Academy will jointly organise the fair, the corporation said in a statement.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu will inaugurate the fair. He will also hand over best 'Karushilpo Puroshkar' named 'Karu Ratna' and 'Karu Gourab' for 1421 Bengali year at the event.
Cultural Affairs Secretary Ranjit Kumar Biswas will be present in the function as the special guest, to be attended by Industries Secretary Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan and BSCIC Chairman Ahmed Hossain Khan.
Entrepreneurs of small, cottage and craft industries will display their products in the fair. They will display different items like cane, bamboo and jute products, pottery items, 'nakshi kantha', wood-made products, home decor items, 'jamdani' and 'tant' sari, imitation and other jewellery items.
There will be 112 stalls in the fair. The fair will remain open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. There will be no entry fee for the visitors.     
Besides, cultural programmes will be organised in the evening everyday during the fair.
