Sunday, 12 October 2008

A homemade bomb exploded and another was found unexploded on the lawn of High Court (HC) Judge Sharif Uddin Chaklader's residence at the Judges' Complex in the city's Kakrail area Saturday afternoon. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Ramna police station Daulat Akbar said a domestic help of the residence found the two cocktails under a jackfruit tree on the lawn at about 4pm. Out of curiosity to identify the objects, the domestic help threw one of the cocktails that exploded with a big bang. Being informed of the incident, police rushed to the spot and recovered the other unexploded bomb. No one claimed responsibility for planting the cocktails over there and police also could not ascertain the motive behind it. — UNB
