Bombs exploded from brisk procession in city

Suspected hartal supporters exploded crude bombs at Dhaka’s Pallabi on Thursday morning, the 1st session of the Jamaat-e-Islami enforced 2 phases of nationwide shutdown. Police, quoting witnesses, said, a group of young people, mostly teen-aged boys, took out a brisk procession from in front of a CNG filling station at Pallabi (formerly under Mirpur police station) around 8:00am. As they noticed that a police patrol team from Pallabi Police Station was coming to the spot, they hurled two crude bombs in front of the gas station and fled the scene. The bombs went off with big bang, sending panic wave in the area, according to private TV channels.
