Bonds continue their winning streak

Monday, 3 May 2010

NEW DELHI, May 2 (Economic Times): The six-year bonds advanced for a fifth day, the longest winning streak in four months, on speculation that banks have surplus cash to invest in debt.
The most-traded notes were poised for a second monthly gain as lenders' bids at the central bank's daily money-market auctions averaged $14.1 billion this month, up from Rs 379 billion in March.
The government raised Rs 120 billion by selling bonds due in 2015, 2020 and 2032.
