Book launching ceremony held

The cover opening ceremony of a book , titled 'WTO Agreement on Customs Valuation: Law and Practice' was held in the city Sunday , said a press release.
M Azadul Islam consolidated the book as a comprehensive study for the various provisions of the Agreement on Customs Valuation (ACV) under the WTO.
David Gregory, director of operations, Intertek International Limited opened the book cover where Ronald Biswas, country manager of the company, among others, business dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Pertinent topics analysed in the book include different valuation methods, judicial decisions and interpretations of the valuation factors, PSI involvement in customs valuation, problems and prospects of valuation agreement and how the provisions of the agreement are followed in developing countries, especially, in Bangladesh and a study of some customs valuation cases presenting in actual practice of the ACV.
The book also presents the current applicable customs valuation systems worldwide, modern valuation technique with reference to new commercial practices to help easy understanding of the complex customs valuation.
