Boro cultivation on 19,740 hectares of land in Pirojpur

PIROJPUR, Dec 11 (UNB): A scheme has been taken up to bring Some 19,740 hectares of land under Boro crops cultivation in seven upazilas of the district in the current season with an output target of 77,954 mts rice. Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) sources said some 3,959 hectares will be brought under hybrid variety and 15,543 hectares under high yielding variety while the rest under local variety. Of the total land, 2,650 hectares will be cultivated in Sadar uapzila, 55 hectares in Zianagar, 63 hectares in Kaukhali, 3600 hectares in Nesarabad, 11,662 in Nazirpur, 30 hectares in Bhandaria, and 1,630 hectares in Mothbaria uapzila.
