Boro farming starts in Nilphamari

Our Correspondent NILPHAMARI, Dec 18: Cultivation of Boro paddy has started in Nilphamari district. Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) sources said this year's target of Boro cultivation is 315822 metric tonnes on 78112 hectares of land. The average production target is 4.4 metric tonnes per hectare out of which cultivation target of hybrid paddy is in 28,260 hectares with production target of 109170 metric tonnes. Department of agriculture Extension (DAE) sources added preparation of seed beds has already completed and saplings are growing there and tilling of land is going on across the district to prepare the land for plantation of Boro seedlings.
