GAIBANDHA, April 06 (BSS): Boro paddy farming in the project command areas of Barind Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA) in the district has been achieved during the current season.
Official sources said the BMDA set a target to bring a total of 8,500 hectares of land under Boro cultivation this year with the production target of 51,000 tonnes of paddy by providing irrigation facilities to the farmers at low cost.
Later, the fixed target has been achieved due to favourable climatic condition and providing need base facilities including irrigation, fertilizers and pesticides to the farmers.
The farmers of the district are now busy to nurture the crop fields following the suggestions of the field level DAE officials to get desired production against the high value crop.
