Boro transplantation going on in full swing in Tangail

TANGAIL, Jan 20: Transplantation of Boro seedling going on in full swing in 12 upazilas of the district in the current season.
Department of agriculture extension DAE Tangail sources said 170082 hectares of land was brought under Boro cultivation this year. Of the total hybrid variety in 2313 hectares with production target of 10916 metric tonnes.
Of the total land for the Boro cultivation in the district 14225 hectares of land has been brought under Boro cultivation in Sadar, 10860 in Bashail upazila, 17880 in Kalihati upazila, 21275 in Ghatail upazilz, 16040 Nagorpur upazila, 20580 Mirzapur upazila, 12140 in Modhupur upazila, 6760 Bhuapur upazila, 14200 Gopalpur  upazila, 16300 Shakhaipur upazila, 9518 in Delduar upazila and 10304 in Dhanbari upazila.
DAE Tangail sources said to make the Boro cultivation a success necessary steps had been taken to supply agri inputs such as fertiliser, insecticides and irrigation facility to the farmers.
