Both DSE, CSE down at opening

Share prices on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed negative trend in early hours of trading on Sunday, the opening day of the week. DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 9.91 points or 0.21 per cent to stand at 4,545.20 points after the first 30 minutes of trade when the report was filed at 11:00 am. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, lost 7.70 points or 0.46 per cent to reach at 1,658.30 points. The DSE Shariah index (DSES) also shrunk by 3.61 points or 0.35 per cent to stand at 1,009.30 points. DSE turnover value stood at Tk 499 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 86 gained, 71 declined and 25 remained unchanged. The port city bourse – CSE – also witnessed fall in prices of most of the shares in early hours of trading today. Its key index, CSCX, lost 16.88 points to stand at 8746.51. Of the issues traded in the morning, 22 gained, 21 declined and 8 remained unchanged.
