BOU going to become a full-fledged virtual varsity

GAZIPUR, Apr 19: Bangladesh Open University (BOU) in Gazipur is going to become a full-fledged virtual university within next six months.
At least 90 per cent works had already been completed for this purpose and the rest will end quickly, said vice chancellor of the university professor Dr. M.A. Mannan. He also said that it will be the only full-fledged virtual university not only in our country, but also in the South Asia.
He said this while addressing as the chief guest  in a 'Meet the press' held at the conference room of the university on Sunday on the occasion of its 4th convocation scheduled to be held on April 22 next. The VC said that the university is going to hold it's 4th convocation on April 22 after 12 years. The last convocation was held on 2003. He sought the support from the media persons to complete the convocation successfully.
About Seven thousand students of the university who obtained graduate degree in  open and distance learning methods will be provided certificates in this convocation programme. Pro- vice-chancellor Prof Dr. Khandaker Mokaddem Hossain, Registrar Professor  Dr. Abul Hossain Bhuiyan, Treasurer Professor Dr. Abu Taher, Director of Information and Public Relations Department Dr. Fazley Ali, Joint Director Mohammed Abul Kashem Sikder, former President  of Gazipur Press Club, Mujibur Rahman, Secretary Aminul Islam addressed, among others, in the programme.    mdshaheen71@gmail.com
