Boys were just ahead of girls in their rate of success in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations. Among the 1,303,331 who passed, 671,961 are male candidates. 91.84 per cent of the boys who sat for the examinations have passed. Meanwhile, the girls aren’t far behind with 90.81 per cent of all female candidates succeeding in their tests. Last year, success rate for girls and boys were 88.88 pc and 89.18pc respectively. Average success rate stands at 91.34 pc with 142,276 receiving GPA 5. Altogether 143,2727 took the SSC and other equivalent tests between Feb 9 and Mar 22, according to bdnews24.com.
