BPJA new committee formed

Uttam Chakravarty of the Daily Janakantha and Kamran Reza Chowdhury of the Dhaka Tribune have been made president and general secretary of the Bangladesh Parliament Journalists’ Association (BPJA) respectively. The 11-member BPJA executive committee was formed on Tuesday at a special meeting of the convening committee with its chief Asish Saikat in the chair. Harun Al Rashid of the Daily Prothom Alo was made vice-president of the new committee while Nikhil Chandra Bhadra of the Kaler Kantho joint secretary, Kazi Shohag of the Daily Manab Zamin treasurer and Kazi Sajidul Haque of bdnews24.com office secretary.  Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and deputy speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah have congratulated the new committee and assured of providing all necessary supports for the professional excellence of the journalists covering parliamentary affairs, according to a news agency.
