BQSP launched to develop 5 export sectors

International Trade Centre (ITC) and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) jointly launched a support programme Sunday for five export sectors to improve their management quality. The sectors are horticulture, agro-processed foods, herbal medicines, light-engineering and information technology. The European Union (EU) is also supporting the programme, titled Bangladesh Quality Support Programme (BQSP). Commerce Secretary Firoz Ahmed formally launched the programme at a function in the city. EC Ambassador Stefan Frowien also addressed the function, conducted by ITC Bangladesh coordinator Brig Gen (retd) Mofizur Rahman. — UNB
