BR implementing 48 projects involving Tk336.47bn: Muzibul

Railway Minister Muzibul Haque on Monday told the parliament that the Bangladesh Railway (BR) is now implementing 48 projects involving Tk336.4722 billion for further development of the country's rail communication system.
Replying to written question from Jatiya Party lawmaker Begum Salma Islam (Dhaka-1), the minister said Tk 34.5 billion have been allocated for 48 schemes in the Revised Annual Development Programme in the current fiscal.
"The work on the projects is being completed fast," he said.
Muzibul said the government has given highest importance to Bangladesh Railway to build it as a safe, cost-effective, environment-friendly and passenger service-oriented public transport medium by making it time-befitting and increasing its capacity.
