BR to begin Eid ticket sale on April 23

Bangladesh Railway's (BR) advance ticket sale ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival will kick off on April 23.
Tickets for dates between April 27 and May 1 will be counted as advance Eid tickets, which will be available at counters and online.
Tickets for April 27 will be sold on April 23, and tickets for dates from April 28 to May 1 will be available between April 24 and April 27 at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital and Chattogram Rail Station, the BR press release said.
Eid return ticket sale will start from May 01, when tickets for May 05 will be provided. If Eid is observed on May 03, then tickets for May 02 will also be sold from counters.
The BR is going to add additional 93 cars as well as six sets of special trains to the 102 inter-city trains during the period to help provide hassle-free journey to a large number of passengers.
Ticket counters will open at 8:00 am, while online tickets will be available from 6:00 am on April 23.
Tickets will be sold from 23 counters at Kamalapur Rail Station, while a separate counter will also be fixed for women.
The BR has also canceled the weekly holidays for all trains from April 25 in order to ensure utmost services, said officials.
However, private bus owners are yet to fix the date for selling advance tickets, especially for the northern, north-western and south-western districts.
The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) is yet to declare the date for selling tickets in advance.
