Brac Bank, Bank Asia recommend div

The board of directors of two listed banks -- Brac Bank and Bank Asia - have recommended dividend last week for the year ended on December 31, 2018, according to separate official discourses.
Brac Bank and Bank Asia both have recommended lower dividend in 2018 compared to the previous year.
Brac Bank: The board of directors of Brac Bank has recommended 15 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2018.
The final approval of dividend will come during the annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held on April 30 at 10:00am at BRAC-CDM in Savar.
The record date for entitlement of dividend is on April 11.
The bank's consolidated net profit stood at more than Tk 5.67 billion for the year ended on December 31, 2018 as against Tk 5.49 billion in the previous year.
The bank has also reported consolidated earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 5.17, consolidated net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk 32.87 and consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of Tk 9.77 for the year ended on December 31, 2018 as against Tk 4.86, Tk 24.80 and Tk 19.93 respectively for the previous year.
The Brac Bank, which was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2007, disbursed 25 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2017.
Each share of the bank closed at Tk 81.70 on Thursday at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
In the last one year, its share traded between Tk 63 and Tk 108.40 each.
The bank's paid-up capital is Tk 10.72 billion and authorised capital is Tk 20 billion, while the total number of securities is 1.07 billion.
The sponsor-directors own 44.30 per cent stake in the bank, while the institutional investors own 7.65 per cent, foreign investors 41.72 per cent and the general public 6.33 per cent as on February 28, 2019, the DSE data shows.
Bank Asia: The board of directors of Bank Asia Ltd has recommended 5.0 per cent cash and 5.0 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2018.
The final approval of dividend will come during the annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held on April 30 at 11:00am in Dhaka.
The record date is on April 15.
The bank has also reported consolidated earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 2.01, consolidated net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk 20.88 and consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of Tk 3.15 for the year ended on December 31, 2018 as against Tk 1.90, Tk 18.85 and Tk 2.20 respectively for the previous year.
The Bank Asia, which was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 2004, disbursed 12.50 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2017.
Each share of the bank closed at Tk 19 on Thursday at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
In the last one year, its share traded between Tk 15.30 and Tk 21.10 each.
The bank's paid-up capital is Tk 11.10 billion and authorised capital is Tk 15 billion, while the total number of securities is 1.11 billion.
The sponsor-directors own 52.25 per cent stake in the bank, while the institutional investors own 31.23 per cent, foreign investors 0.42 per cent and the general public 16.10 per cent as on February 28, 2019, the DSE data shows.
