BRAC Bank launches banking service for NRBs

BRAC Bank Limited launched a new service -- Probashi Banking Service -- to provide a total banking solution to Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) in addition to the regular remittance services.
"Probashi Banking Service introduced a wide range of deposit and investment products for the NRBs and their beneficiaries in Bangladesh," said Naushad Hussain, head of Probashi Banking Service, at a press conference at a city hotel Wednesday.
BRAC Bank has 1200 remittance delivery points across the country and also has remittance arrangement with various remittance houses worldwide, he added.
"BRAC Bank's Probashi Banking Service will help the NRBs to invest their heard earned money in their homeland and contribute to the country's economy as well," Naushad added.
Among others, Rais Uddin Ahmad, Company Secretary and Head of Regulatory and Internal Control, Abedur Rahman Sikder, Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs and other senior officials of the Bank were also present at the launching ceremony.
Probashi Banking Service offers deposit products like Probashi Interest Now Account, Probashi Super Saver Scheme, Probashi Education Saver, Probashi Shubidha DPS, Probashi Shubidha FD and Investment products like Probashi Wage Earner's Development Bond, US Doller Premium Bond, US Dollar Investment Bond.
In addition to these, currently BRAC Bank is considered as the Market Leader in terms of Western Union payouts.
Remittance partners of BRAC Bank are United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, USA, Canada, UK, Kuwait and Cyprus.
BRAC Bank is now providing Life Insurance coverage to all remitters who will remit money through any of the Exchange Companies, which has an arrangement with BRAC Bank Ltd. The service is free of charge for the remitters and has a coverage period of 65 days from the date of the remittance transaction.
