BRAC Bank robbed of Tk 20m in Joypurhat

Robbers in Joypurhat have made off with almost Tk 20 million from a branch of BRAC Bank, according to police. Joypurhat's Assistant Superintendent of Police Dhiman Chandra said the incident occurred at the bank's Sadar Street branch sometime during Friday night. He said that the wall of the bank was knocked down. "According to estimates by bank officials, Tk 19.95 million has been robbed from the branch." BRAC Bank's Head of Communications Zeeshan Kingshuk Huq told bdnews24.com that the rear wall of the branch was knocked down to enter in to the vault. He added that Tk 19.95 million was robbed from the branch.
