BRAC Instt of Languages marks 20 yrs of inception

A vibrant programme of cultural diversity featuring multiple global languages was held at BRAC University recently, as the BRAC Institute of Languages (BIL) celebrated its 20th founding anniversary through launching of books, poetry recitation and performance of drama, dance, and music, according to a statement.
The university promotes intercultural dialogue and celebrates cultural traditions to foster a deeper understanding of the world and strengthen its role as a leading institution of the Global South, said Vice-Chancellor Professor Syed Ferhat Anwar, who attended the event as a special guest.
Speaking as the chief guest, Stephen Forbes, country director of British Council Bangladesh, highlighted the importance of languages in connecting people and cultures. Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Tamara Hasan Abed, was also present as the special guest. Three books were also launched-one featuring memoirs of the Residential Semester at BRAC University, and the other two focusing on English lessons for school students.
