BRAC official knifed to death in Gazipur

GAZIPUR, Jan 1 (UNB): A Brac official was stabbed to death by muggers at Madhumita Rail Gate in Tongi early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abu Jahid Sarker, 55, official of a Brac cold storage in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla.
Jahid, son of Nazimuddin Sarker of Majihati village in Netrakona, used to reside at a rented house at Rupban Math Tek, Tongi.
Police said some snatchers waylaid Jahid while he was walking towards the rail gate from his house.
At one stage, they hit him with sharp weapons, leaving him injured at about 5am.
