RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb 9 (Xinhua): Brazilian Minister of Agriculture Reinhold Stephanes signed yesterday an agreement with the Brazilian-Arab Chamber of Commerce aimed at boosting commercial partnerships with 22 Arabic-speaking countries.
In order to prospect new business, officials at the ministry of agriculture will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on February 24-25, according to Celio Porto, the Brazilian government's secretary of foreign relations for agribusiness.
The main agricultural customers of Brazil in the region are Iran, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, said Porto, adding that it is important "to diversify exports" because they are currently "concentrated on beef, poultry meat and sugar.
The secretary also said during the visit that a food expo would be staged in Dubai.
