BRB Cable wins German award

The country's leading cable manufacturer BRB Cable Industries Ltd Monday received prestigious 'GL type approval certificate' as a top-class cables manufacturer for the use in submarine and shipbuilding industry usages.
Germany based Germanischer Lloyd (GL) certified BRB Cable, declaring it capable of producing XLPE insulated PVC Sheathed Shipboard Power and Control Cable.
In presence of Industries Minister Dilip Barua, the certificate was handed over in a formal ceremony to BRB Cable chairman Md Mozibar Rahman. Area Manager and Vice President of GL-ASEAN Hans-Warner Steiner handed over the certificate on the occasion.
"Government considers shipbuilding industry as a thrust sector, poses enormous opportunity to progress," Minister Dilip Barua said on the occasion adding that BRB produced cable after receiving this prestigious certificate would further help the industry to flourish.
Special graded cable is a vital component in shipbuilding industry that very few countries currently produce, he said.
"Since BRB is now capable of producing these special cables, they would not only meet the local demand but also widens door for export," Mr Barua added.
Speaking on the occasion, BRB Group chairman Mozibar Rahman said his company would continue maintaining up-most production standard rather than focusing on profit. He termed the achievement as an achievement of the country.
BRB Cable Industries Ltd is one of the largest wire and cable manufacturing companies around the world. According to the largest survey on cable and wire manufacturers, the company has been ranked 33rd position among 3000 world-famous cable wire companies in the world.
