Breaking record of singing national anthem

Friday, 28 March 2014

We are indeed glad to see the people of our country setting a new record of singing our national anthem. Over 250,000 people sang the national anthem in the National Parade Square on our Independence Day. It was a beautiful moment for the nation.
When I was young, I remember, I used to sing our national anthem in my school just before my classes started. The March 26 event aimed at having Bangladesh's name in the Guinness Book of World Records. Previously the record was held by India and the number of people was 120,000.
Our country is gradually moving ahead and we can see and feel it. The number of educated people is increasing and even the illiterate people are very eager to educate their children because they have realised the value of education.
The people of our country are very hard working and we will free our country from poverty and backwardness soon. I heartily congratulate all the people and institutions that took part in the March 26 record creating event. I am sure the inspiring event will encourage us to achieve economic independence which we have been dreaming of since the inception of our country.
