Bridegroom, 4 others burnt in acid attack

SHARIATPUR, Jan 1 (UNB): Five people, including a bridegroom, sustained burn injuries in an acid attack by some unidentified miscreants in a 'Gaye Holud' programme at Kala Miah Sarker Kandi village of Bhedarganj upazila on Wednesday night.
The victims were identified as bridegroom Selim Sarkar, 28, his nephew 'Siam', 4, nieces-Rabeya, 5 and Shahina Akter, 22, and Tohra Begum, 17.
Police said the gang entered the house around 12 pm when the Gaye Halud, a pre-wedding ceremony, was going on and threw acid targeting the bridegroom, leaving Selim and four others injured.
