Bridges Division for Tk 93.04b in next FY

The Bridges Division under the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges has proposed for an allocation of Tk 93.04 billion in the next fiscal year (FY), an increase of over 6.0 per cent from that of the current FY, officials said.
The government has allocated over Tk 87.36 billion to the division for the current FY, 2014-15, they said.
Besides, the Bridges Division has made projections of its expenses to the tune of Tk 99.08 billion and Tk 105.51 billion for FYs 2016-17 and 2017-18 under the Medium-Term Budgetary Framework (MTBF) respectively, according to the data.
Expenditures of the development, non-development and approved projects have been included in the allocations.
A meeting of the budget management committee of the division was held at the division. Bridges Division Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam presided over the meeting.
For taking necessary steps, the division has already sent the minutes of the meeting to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
"The government has fixed an expenditure ceiling for the division under the MTBF. The Bridges Division sent the proposals to the MoF according to the set format recently," Deputy Director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) Md Abul Hossain said.
