Market sees investors' increased role
Dhaka bourse closed the Wednesday's session with a moderate rise both in broad index and turnover value following investors' increased participation. On the day, most of the sectors saw marginal price appreciation despite the market witnessed volatility amid investors' cautious stance. US to send precision rockets to Ukraine
Russian troops pressed closer to the centre of a factory city in their drive on Wednesday to grab a swathe of eastern Ukraine, while the United States said it would supply advanced rockets to Kyiv to help it force Moscow to negotiate an end to the war. Rice bran oil millers seek export ban lifting
The country's rice bran oil millers have sought to lift the ban on crude rice bran oil shipment for six months saying that the sector has been hit hard by the bar, an industry insider said. The government on May 24, 2022, banned crude rice bran oil export with the view to ensuring adequate supply of edible oil in the local market. Page 22
Meeting on Malaysian labour mkt today
Dhaka and Kuala Lumpur are expected to settle unresolved issues related to hiring of manpower, raising hope for reopening of the Malaysian labour market for Bangladeshi workers, officials said. In this regard, a delegation led by Malaysian Human Resources Minister M Saravanan was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka in the early hours of today (Thursday). Page 17
