Stocks keep rising, shaking off worries
Stocks extended the winning streak for a third straight week, as investors keep buying major sector stocks, shaking off fears about economic uncertainty. All the five trading days this week ended higher, thanks to higher participation of general investors. Page 9
Sri Lanka face Afghanistan today

Moscow, Kyiv trade blame over N plant
Ukraine and Russia traded accusations over each others' actions around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant on Friday as a team of inspectors from the UN nuclear watchdog tried to check the safety of the facility and avert a potential disaster. Ukraine's state nuclear company said the Interna-tional Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission had not been allowed to enter the plant's crisis centre, where Ukraine says Russian troops are stationed, and would struggle to make an impartial assessment. SC rallies CAG power to audit public money
Wherever income and expenditure of public money are involved, the Comptroller and Auditor-General of Bangladesh (CAG) has the authority to audit to ascertain the propriety, legality and validity of it. The Supreme Court (SC) has ruled it, saying that the provisions of the law concerned provide that the CAG has the right to audit tax receipts and/or refunds. Page 16
