Dhaka stocks edge lower
Stocks ended lower on Sunday, the first trading day of the new fiscal year (FY) 2022-23, as investors were selling shares amid persistent volatility. The market ended over 17 points lower after four-day gain. DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 17.16 points or 0.26 per cent to settle at 6,359, after gaining 76 points in the past four days. Page 9
Argentine economy minister quits
Argentina's economy minister resigned unexpectedly Saturday, dealing a fresh blow to the government of President Alberto Ferández as the country struggles with economic problems. Martín Guzmán stepped down after a week in which Argentina's currency hit an all-time low against the dollar amid sizzling inflation and truck drivers staged protests over shortages of diesel fuel. US LNG exports fall to lowest since Feb
US exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in June fell to the lowest in four months, data from Refinitiv Eikon showed, after the country's second-largest LNG plant was shut by an explosion. LNG shipments from the United States to Europe had rocketed before the June 8 blast, which knocked out Freeport LNG. The plant had been exporting about 1.9 billion cubic feet per day. Page 19
