SCB to issue Tk 8.50b zero coupon bond
Standard Chartered has received all the regulatory approvals for issuing Tk 8.50 billion Zero Coupon Bond. This would be the first Zero Coupon Bond issued by a foreign bank in Bangladesh. It marks another pioneering transaction for the bank in Bangladesh and is an important milestone in the development of Bangladesh's debt capital market, said a statement. Page 9
Russian editor sets herself on fire
A Russian news editor has died after setting herself on fire in front of an interior ministry office in the city of Nizhniy Novgorod. Irina Slavina earlier wrote on Facebook: "I ask you to blame the Russian Federation for my death." Page 10
Salahuddin reelected president of BFF
Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin has been reelected president of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) for the fourth consecutive term in a row. The election was held today at Pan Panfici Sonargaon Hotel in the city on Saturday. Abdus Salam Murshedy retained the post of senior vice-president of BFF beating his rival Sheikh Mohammad Aslam.
