Stocks gain steam, as major sectors soar
Stocks notched sharp gains on Wednesday, with turnover surpassing Tk 22 billion mark again, as the investors continued their buying spree amif high optimism, buoyed by regulatory measures. Vietnam bar fire claims 23 lives
The death toll from a fire that tore through a karaoke bar in southern Vietnam has risen to 23, an official said Wednesday. The blaze engulfed the second floor of the building on Tuesday night, trapping customers and staff as dense smoke filled the staircase and blocked the emergency exit, reports said. Page 17
Hasina urges Indian cos to invest in BD
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged Indian businesses to invest in Bangladesh, which she says has the most liberal investment regime in the region with a wide array of facilities, attractive incentive policies, and consistent reforms.
