DSE turnover hits seven-week low
Turnover on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) dropped below Tk 6.0 billion-mark Thursday, hitting a seven-week low, as investors were reluctant to put fresh funds in stocks amid persistent macroeconomic worries. Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, fell 17 per cent to Tk 5.80 billion, compared to the previous day's tally of Tk 7.02 billion. Page 9

40 countries call on Russia to end war
Dozens of countries from around the world called on Russia Wednesday to halt the war in Ukraine. They included the United States, member of the European Union, and countries in Asia. In a statement these 40-odd countries said they support Ukraine's proceedings before the International Court of Justice seeking "to establish that Russia has no lawful basis to take military action in Ukraine on the basis of unsubstantiated allegations of genocide."
